You can add notes, arrows, and other annotations to a sketch.

Add an arrow or line

  1. On the Sketch tab, click Annotation.
  2. Click Line Color , and select a color for annotation.
  3. Click Line or Arrow on the Sketch ribbon.
  4. Click and drag on the sketch workspace to create your annotation.

Add a rectangle or an ellipse annotation to a sketch

  1. On the Sketch tab, click Annotation.
  2. Click Line Color , and select a color for annotation.
  3. Click Rectangle or Ellipse on the Sketch ribbon.
  4. Click and drag on the sketch workspace to create your annotation.
  5. To add a fill to the rectangle or ellipse:
    1. Click Fill Color , and select a color.
    2. Click Fill . Then click the rectangle or ellipse you want to fill.

Add a text annotation

  1. On the Sketch tab, click Annotation.
  2. Click Text .
  3. Click on the sketch workspace to add your text. The Edit Annotation dialog box appears.
  4. In the Edit Annotation dialog box, make your font and style selections.
  5. Type your text, and click OK.

Resize or move an annotation

  1. On the sketch workspace, click the annotation.
  2. To resize a square or ellipse, click and drag the blue boxes.
  3. To resize a line or an arrow, click and drag the red diamond on either end.
  4. To move an annotation, click and drag the center red diamond.

Delete an annotation

  1. On the sketch workspace, select the annotation.
  2. Press Delete on your keyboard.

Print annotations

  1. On the Sketch tab, click Print.
  2. In the dialog box, on the Estimate Reports tab, click Sketch.
  3. Click Edit Default View.
  4. Ensure Annotations is selected, and click OK.
  5. Click Print.
